Software Engineering Student

Hey, thanks for checking out my personal website! My name is Nivetha and I'm a student studying software engineering at McMaster University. This is my first time applying my web development skills to a big project and I had a lot of fun making this. Feel free to learn more about me and look at some of my past projects.

With the goal of building a more inclusive digital environment, I'm interested in developing technologies that prioritize underrepresented people. I love to code and I'm always trying to learn new programming skills. My current goals are to expand my knowledge on data structures, learn backend development and find potential internships or new grad jobs. If you want to chat, don't hesitate to reach out!

Pawsitive

Created on: November 2021
Languages/Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap4, Node.js, PetFinder's API
Description: This project was submitted as an entry for the Girls Hoo Hacks Hackathon and won the Best Social Good Category. It's a website where users can enter a zip code to find adoptable pets near that area. The website uses PetFinder's API in order to complete the search. This was our first experience using Node.js to implement the API and overall we had a lot of fun working on this project. Check out our submission on Devpost!

Description: This was my grade 12 final project, where my team and I created a Plants vs. Zombies game with a twist. It was my first major project where I implemented object-oriented programming and learn how to work on a game in a team setting. Check out the game on Greenfoot!
